Performance Experince: I have performed across four continents, in venues from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. My Brass Quintet were third-prize winners at the Jeju International Brass Quintet Competition, as well as being twice award the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Scholarship to attend the Yale School of Music's Norfolk Chamber Music Festival
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching for over 10 years, working with complete beginners through to college students. I have taught group lessons and have experience conducting small and large ensembles.
Teaching Philosphy: I believe music can immensely help the development of young people. I want to help my students build confidence in themselves and their abilities. I love being able to see a student feel accomplished.
Get to know David Farrell
Australian Trombonist David Farrell enjoys an international performing career spanning four continents, including performances at Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Currently based in New York, he is a member of the award winning Maverick Brass Quintet, prizewinners at the Jeju International Brass Quintet Competition. He recently completed a Master of Music at the Manhattan School of Music studying with Colin Williams, Associate Principal trombone of the New York Philharmonic. David has been playing the trombone since the age of eight, and specializes in teaching trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba.
