Performance Experience: David has performed as a vocalist with the Handel and Haydn society choir of tenors and basses, highlighted work includes Messiah and Mozart's Requiem. He has also performed as a soloist in recitals with the New England Conservatory. He was also a part of the St. Olaf College Viking chorus and Cantorei ensembles, as well as the mass Christmas Festival choir. He has performed on Euphonium in various ensembles and played piano in collaboration with students and choirs.
Teaching Experience: David has taught and trained in the Alexander technique, and brings this experience to whatever instruments he can, focusing on how the body interacts with itself and whatever is being played. He has conducted vocal ensembles at the high school and collegiate level as well as worked with vocalists and pianists of all ages.
Teaching Philosophy: In lessons on any instrument he focuses on teaching technique and artistry mixed in with significant ear training and theory in whatever form the instrument allows. He is a strong believer that every instrumentalist should be able to sight read at some level, to train their "hearing eye" and "seeing ear" as well as every singer should know some theory at the keyboard.
