About David Lamay

Get to know David Lamay
Multi-instrumentalist David Lamay started playing the clarinet when he was 8 years old and living in the Washington, D.C. area. His passion for music was kindled by enthusiastic teachers and by frequent exposure to the Friday Morning Music Club and the US Military Band concerts, as well as listening to the sounds of Benny Goodman on the radio at his grandparent's house.
David is active with the local music community, playing with the Washington Football Team marching band, local and international orchestras and concert bands, as well as playing gigs on weekends. Many of his students have achieved success, including top chairs in the Loudoun and McLean All-District Bands, Loudoun All-District Jazz Band, and various college auditions. He was named Loudoun County's Favorite Music teacher in 2019.
In his spare time, David enjoys spending time on the water and making instruments out of vegetables!
