Get to know David Rauh
After performing with both instrumental and vocal
groups throughout his years in the Westport school system, he eventually found
his way to University of south Florida where he was lucky to meet and study
with Professor Robert McCormick and toured with both the USF #1 Jazz and Wind
Esembles. While still living in Florida, Dave performed nightly with various fusion,
rock and experimental jazz groups in the greater Tampa Bay area, opening for
some well known acts such as saxophonist Phil Woods, and vocalists Judy Collins
and Angela Bofill.
For the last 14 years, Dave has been Playing
drums and singing with the popular Fairfield county based Band "Voodoo
Carnival" who have performed at numerous venues and benefits in the area.
For the last 20 years or so he has been obsessed with developing his own technique
on cajon and now performs on that instrument regularly with a growing
consortium of "acoustically bent" songwriters and musicians. During
the pandemic, Dave hosted a number of pop-up outdoor showcase events which
included appearances by many of those same musicians.
"I started my official journey of percussion
48 years ago and am still learning new things every day..... Lets learn
together!"
