      Performance Experience: David has had the opportunity to perform with many different ensembles across the United States. Aside from school bands he has participated in many honors bands, DCI (Drum Corp International), United States Marine Band Parris Island, and various ensembles at Western Kentucky University.
      Teaching Experience: David has been providing services as a brass musician and instructor since 2003. He has taught band camps, masterclasses, lessons, and groups sectionals. He is currently pursuing his bachelors degree to become a fulltime band director.
      Teaching Philosophy: Music is exceedingly important in our culture and society. There are many types, genres, and perceptions of music. My goal as a music educator is to provide the raw musical materials to students that they need or desire. By doing so I am allowing them the opportunity to develop their own love for music and for them to determine the level of importance music has for them. Through music we may not be able to change the world, but we can better understand it.

      Get to know David Stewart

      David Stewart, a Kentucky native and USMC Veteran, is an accomplished tuba player and aspiring composer/arranger in the worlds of orchestral, wind band, and chamber music. His music has been performed by high school marching bands and concert bands since 2020. As a musician he has received many awards over the years from both the local and state levels. In 2021 he was commissioned to arrange A Coventry Carol for the Edmonson County High School Band in Brownsville, KY. His newest commission was a march for the 2023 Putnam County Honors Band in Putnam County Florida. 

      David is currently attending Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY to obtain his Music Education Degree where he aspires to share his love of music and experiences with the musical youth in the world. Through his arrangements, compositions, and teachings he hopes to provide opportunities for musicians to experience the richness and love that music and performance can provide.
