About Mr. Davon Wheeler

I started my teaching career in South Brunswick, NJ teaching 3rd to 5th grade general music and 4th/5th grade band.  Next, I helped revive an elementary music program in Trenton, NJ teaching general music and percussion K through 5th grade.  Currently, I am the assistant band director at Hamilton High School West where I teach concert, jazz and marching band. I have performance experience in classical, jazz and church music.  At The College of New Jersey I performed in the college wind ensemble, orchestra and jazz band all four years.  Performances included various music conferences, concerts and festivals.  I've also performed in various community bands and brass ensembles throughout the area.  My jazz performance experience includes performing at jazz festivals, Candlelight Lounge, Mill Hill Salon, and various other jazz events (private events, weddings, and etc).  As a church musician I've played trombone and drum set for well over a decade at national and regional Baptists conventions as well as locally at my church
