Performance Experience: I have been performing and recording as part of numerous projects for many years now. This includes session work, artist projects, bands, theater work and much more. I have performed at weddings, small venues, clubs, churches, and recreational centers.
Teaching Experience: 40+ years all styles including rock, jazz and classical guitar
Teaching Philosophy: I gear my lessons to focus on the individual student's desires and skill levels. I combine structured lessons with music the student enjoys themselves.
Get to know Dean Alster
I have been teaching guitar and bass professioanlly for 40+ years to all ages and in all styles including classical guitar. I have experience prepping students for NYSSMA performances as well as entry into universities. I have sent 5 prior students to Berkley Music College some of which received full scholarships.
