About Denise Berson

I have a wealth of experience teaching small group and private lessons and both small and large band ensembles.  My teaching experience includes public and private schools in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  Many of my students have participated in Rhode Island All State and Solo and Ensemble, and in Southeastern Massachusetts District Music Festivals on junior and senior levels.  I have been the musical director/conductor of a summer band program, responsible for all facets of the program, ranging from scheduling and student recruitment to music selection and solidifying continued support of community partners.  The program culminates in a final performance with 2 levels of band performing different styles of music.

I teach all band instruments, including flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.  Teaching is truly my passion and no one can surpass the enthusiasm I bring to my students. I have spent time teaching home school students and have been told by parents that I “get them” and do a wonderful job with them.  I have given group keyboard lessons to home schooled children.
