Get to know Desiree
Desiree DeMelfi is a classically trained Mezzo-Soprano hailing from the South Shore of Long Island. Desiree has studied voice since the ripe age of eight, beginning with Musical Theater technique before transitioning toward a more classically focused career. Desiree also grew up playing the flute and piccolo. In May 2022, she will be receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College with a concentration in voice. Here, Desiree studied voice with world-class faculty in a Conservatory setting in order to further develop her skills, all while aspiring to teacher others. While studying at Westminster, Desiree performed and traveled with the Westminster Symphonic Choir, singing in performance halls including but not limited to: The Kimmel Center, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. Prior to this, she performed in many SCEMA and NYSSMA select ensembles, including NYSSMA All-State Treble Choir and SCMEA Jazz. Desiree is a recipient of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame Scholarship for Distinction in Music.
