About Devante Land

From athlete to performer, De’Vante Land has been featured on the field in many ways. De’Vante started his musical journey in orchestra at Boiling Spring Middle School under the direction of Denise Burcham. Following this experience, he expanded his musical repertoire and jumped not only into band, but marching band under the direction of Bryan Bone. From there he began his brass journey, eventually making it to region band as a trombonist with only 3 years of experience under his belt. Land’s passion for marching band then led him to explore the DCI space. Here he wasprovided with education from some of the best brass educators in the business. Mr.Land was a proud member of Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps in both 2012 and 2014 and has had the pleasure of learning from names including: Andrew Putnam, Jason Hausback, Errick Prince, Alex Blue V, Gino Cipriani, Clark Hunt, and Patrick Hinton. He has had the privilege of being able to share his passion for the arts in multiple states focusing on his visual and brass specialties (Boiling Springs High School (SC) 2012, Seattle Cascades 2015 (WA), Music City 2016 (TN), Riverton High School (UT) 2019, Davis High School Indoor Percussion 2019(UT), Gold Spike Percussion 2019 (UT), etc.) Mr. Land teaches with a very open mind and prioritizes students falling in love with the process of arts and finding ones sense of self through the arts! Fun fact: Mr. Land has taught at East High School in Utah which was the filming location of the iconic High School Musical series!
