Get to know Doris Patterson-Brown

Doris is a vocalist and pianist from Chesapeake Virginia. She was a member of groups such as the Chesapeake Civic Chorus from 2015- 2019. Doris is currently a student at Christopher Newport University studying music education. She is a member of the Marching Captains, University Chorale, and Opera CNU. She is also a member of the national Association for music education, Tidewater Area Musicians, National Association for Negro musicians, as well as being the president of Sigma Alpha Iota CNU. Outside of school she’s also a singer in a cover band called the Earth-tones. After receiving her Bachelors and Masters degrees she plans on continuing to teach students of all ages and help them embrace and discover themselves through music.
