Chamber musician with the Rhine Saxophone Quartet and other groups.
Teaching Experience: I have taught private lessons for over 8 years to flute, clarinet and saxophone students. My most recent appointment was music instructor at the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy in Ohio. My performing background and teaching background has prepared me to teach a wide variety styles and I specialize in classical performance and jazz improvisation.
Teaching Philosophy: Music is an unique ability that humans have and through refinement of this ability we can learn more about ourselves and the world around us. My teaching philosophy is to present students with tasks that are not so easy that they are bored and not so difficult that they become discouraged. Students will then become intrinsically motivated to practice. I also strongly encourage students to listen to as much music as possible to develop an idea of what they want to achieve artistically.
