Teaching Philosophy: I believe that the study of music can benefit students both in school and in their future life endeavors. When teaching, I have a passion for helping students grow on their instrument, teaching them the greatness of music and paving a path for them to guide their talent to success.
Get to know Fernando
Fernando Cruz is a woodwindist, composer, and educator. He plays and teaches saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, composition, music theory, and more, in all styles ranging from classical to jazz. He got his undergraduate degree at the University of North Florida in Jazz Studies and is currently pursuing a master's degree in music. He performs around the Florida area as a sideman in various bands, and also leads his own ensembles. In addition to his performance and teaching, he composes/arranges for varies groups ranging from small ensembles to big bands and orchestras.
