About Fran Reisman-Tabor

Get to know Fran Reisman-Tabor
Fran Reisman-Tabor began her musical journey as the daughter of
a classical pianist and opera singer.
She studied violin from the age of 8 from Peruz Kavafian, a
nationally famous Armenian violinist whose two daughters are now
internationally famous violinists. She also studied with Morris Hochberg,
concert master of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Fran also studied piano with
Reva Kuhel, a partner in a duo of professional classical pianists and
voice from Avery Crew, professor of voice at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Fran earned a Bachelor's of Music Education in Voice and Piano
from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Master of Music
Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She studied voice and
opera at University of Southern California, California State University at
Northridge and Orange Coast College.
Fran sang chorus roles with Michigan Opera Theatre and Opera
Colorado and lead roles with Denver Opera Company. She has sung on stage at
Carnegie Hall and toured Europe and South America as a soloist in choral
works. Fran's love of teaching developed during college and has been
teaching ever since, from preschoolers to adults. She credits the success of
her thousands of students on her determination to reach every student at their
level and to assist them in becoming successful at their own pace. She is
dedicated to creating a welcoming environment and motivating her students to
take responsibility for their success.
