About George Brown
Get to know George Brown
George [Brown] graduated from Western Michigan University (WMU) with a bachelor’s degree in music education in 2017. While at WMU, George performed in multiple ensembles, such as the university concert and symphonic bands, the Bronco Marching Band, and pep bands. George also was a part of several smaller ensembles, including brass ensemble, tuba quartets, saxophone quartets, and woodwind quintets. In the fall of 2019, George moved to Limerick, Ireland to pursue a master’s in ethnomusicology at the University of Limerick. While studying, he was able to participate in many performance opportunities such as the orchestra, Boherbuoy Brass and Reed Band, Limerick City Big Band, and the Irish Symphonic Wind Orchestra. As well as world music ensembles such as gamelan, African drumming, balkan ensemble, and lessons learning Irish flute. George finished his master’s while making his move out to Southern California in late 2020, and is now greatly looking forward to teaching and performing in the area!
