Glenndon is a professional musician, educator, arranger, and composer from Long Island who now works in the Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware region. His primary instrument is trumpet; he also performs on piano and vocals.
Glenndon holds a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance. He has studied privately with artists such as Terell Stafford, John Swana, Rodney Marsalis, Nick Marchione, Tanya Darby, Mike Natale, and Leon Petruzzi.
Glenndon plays a supportive and engaged role for students as they continue to develop their passions for music and the arts. He works together with each student to create an individualized plan that evolves based on goals, interests, tastes in music and the arts, needs, and accomplishments. Glenndon will encourage and provide students with opportunities to play and perform various styles of music in groups with teacher and student musicians from his network of music educators and professional musicians. Additionally, he will often work together with students' public school music teachers to coordinate workshops for ensembles in their school environments. He has been teaching for more than ten years and is prepared to help everyone, from those too young to hold a heavy metal trumpet to comeback players who have not played in twenty years, with topics and situations ranging from jazz improvisation and practice injuries to college audition preparation and playing with braces.
For the last three years, he has performed regularly with the event/wedding band, The Morning After Band. This group performs all year long at public and private performances up and down the East Coast. With this group he plays in a jazz combo, a 10-piece party band, and a classical brass quartet. He regularly performs on the Philadelphia salsa scene with artists such as Jimmy Jorge and the Latin Express. Glenndon freelances across the New York, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and Wilmington areas in many styles of music including jazz, classical, salsa, folk, and pop, and is a studio musician at a popular R&B/hip hop studio in Philadelphia.
