About Greg Rapport
Get to know Greg Rapport
Greg has been playing guitar, bass and drums for over 50 years. He is a serious musician, but he believes the whole point of playing music is to enjoy yourself. He is living proof that you can have fun playing music for many, many years, and the fun never stops.
Greg played in working bands from New Jersey to Florida when he was 13 years old. For his personal enjoyment at home, he plays mostly classical and flamenco style, but he was raised on rock and jazz, and is accomplished in all styles.
Greg is also a prolific songwriter and arranger. He has logged countless hours in recording studios over the years, and spent 10 years leading a 14-piece event band. Currently he directs his creative energy toward writing comedy songs and travels the east coast making people laugh with clever original songs such as “Food I’m Not Allowed to Eat at Home” and “The First World Blues.”
Greg began teaching in 1976. He was trained on an individualized instruction method that he still uses today. The point of individualized instruction is to find out how each student learns most comfortably, and then find music that makes them feel good to play.
