About Gregory Reese

Originally from York, PA, Greg Reese began playing professionally at age 16. After graduating from Towson University, and 2 years freelancing, he auditioned and won a position with the Jazz Ambassadors of the United States Army Field Band, the premiere touring jazz ensemble of the U.S. Army. Greg retired from the military in 2000 after 20 years of worldwide touring and recording with the Jazz Ambassadors, and has resumed his freelance career. Greg has also been teaching trumpet privately for the past 20 years.

Greg's recording credits include 12 album projects with the Jazz Ambassadors, many independent projects, ad jingles, PSA's, and, most recently, Una Mas on OA2 Records with the Afro-Bop Alliance, released 2011, Bright Future on OA2 Records, with the Vince Norman-Joe McCarthy Big Band, released 2010, Words Cannot Express also on OA2 Records, with the Vince Norman-Joe McCarthy Big Band, released 2007, and with the Caribbean Jazz Project, Afro-Bop Alliance released on the Heads-Up label in 2008, and winner of the 9th Annual Latin Grammy Award “Best Latin Jazz Album of the Year”,and nominated (2009) 51st Annual Grammy Awards, “Best Latin Jazz Album”.
