About Greta Loesel

Get to know Greta Loesel
Rumor has it that Greta Loesel was singing before she could even talk... Growing up in a musical family, music was always a considerable part of Greta's life. She started piano at age 6, and at age 10 took up her primary instrument, oboe. Over the past decade, Greta has built up ample experience in solo, chamber, pit, and large ensemble playing. Her most notable accomplishments are participating in the NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles as a high school sophomore, and performing twice at Carnegie Hall. She has received an abundance of high praise about her sound, including from New York Philharmonic's own Joe Alessi. Greta has studied under Olav van Hezewijk, the Lucarelli Oboe Master Class, and the Hartt Community Division. Greta is also a dynamic vocalist, specializing in musical theatre. She actively performs in various shows around the area, and is best known for taking over the leading role of Violette Montressor in the new musical Crossing. She has received training from AMDA (NYC) and Ariana Valdes.
