Get to know Gwendolyn Koch
Gwendolyn Krueger Koch, B.A., is a fine arts graduate of Seattle Pacific University. Gwen was a K-12 grades Band & Orchestra director at Christa's King's Garden Schools, & percussionist with the North West Symphony Orchestra, North Seattle Community College, & the Highline Community Burien Band.
She was a Washington State Accordion Champion winning an all-expense paid trip to Detroit, Michigan. She placed 7th in the USA National Accordion Olympics.
In her youth Gwen won the Boeing Children's Talent Contest receiving the coveted William M. Allen Award & trophy. She sang in the Fauntleroy Community Church's choir & SPU's Oratorio Society.
With her husband, Milton, they have 2 daughters, 2 son-in-laws & 5 musical grand children, who play piano & violin. After college, Gwen has taught piano at Sherman & Clay, Kennelly Keys Music, Mills Music & her own studio. She has been a church musician for 7 different congregations & presently an organist at Highline United Methodist. She is a member of the AGO, NWATA, WSMTA & Guild member of the NWSO. Gwen has taught here in Burien at this location for over 26 years.
As a soloist, she performs regularly in recitals, concerts, & celebrations.
