Location: Pasadena, TX
Education: I received my bachelors in music from the University of Houston, majoring in music education and clarinet performance, and my masters in music degree from Louisiana State University, majoring in clarinet performance
Performance Experience: During my time at University of Houston Moores School of Music, I performed with the UH Wind ensemble, numerous chamber groups (including two woodwind quintets), programmed and organized two solo recitals, and performed in the pit during the opera production of "The Crucible" in fall 2016.
During my graduate studies I performed with the LSU wind ensemble, LSU Symphony Orchestra, multiple chamber groups, as well as programmed and organized three solo recitals.
Teaching Experience: I taught private lessons at Clear Creek Intermediate from fall 2014 - spring 2015 and Berry Miller Junior High fall 2015 - summer 2017. I then taught group clarinet classes at Buchanan Elementary in Baton Rouge from fall 2017 - spring 2018. I worked as a graduate assistant to my professor teaching undergraduate clarinet students and managing rehearsals from fall 2018 - spring 2019. I have been teaching private lessons to junior high and high school students in Pearland ISD since fall 2019.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe that every student is unique in the way that they learn and it is my job to understand how to best help them grasp the material. I try to approach each lesson with the goal of enabling my students to develop a variety of mental tools to take with them when they leave the lesson, so that they can continue to grow in their own time.
