      Teaching Philosophy: Heather is passionate about creating a student-centered and safe learning environment for her students. She believes that student input is valuable and encourages her students to be creative.

      Get to know Heather Aldous

      Heather Aldous has been playing viola since the age of 10. She has loved playing and listening to music since she was a young girl. Heather grew up in Ballston Spa, NY and was a member of the Empire State Youth Orchestra from grades 8-12. She also studied privately with Tania Susi from grades 7-12. She moved to Fredonia, NY in 2018 to attend SUNY Fredonia, majoring in Music Education and studying with David Rose. Heather relocated to Buffalo, NY in July 2022 to complete her final semester student teaching in Buffalo. She will be pursuing a Master's degree in Music Education from Nazareth University starting July 2023. Heather enjoys listening to all genres of music and loves teaching, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with her cat.
