      About Heidi Schnarr

      Heidi Schnarr
      Heidi Schnarr
      Music Teacher, Master
      Location: Missoula, MT
      Speaks: English
      Instructs: Piano, Voice
Education: Music Educator Licensure, State of Montana; M.M. Choral Conducting, Bard College
Teaching Experience: Teaching piano and voice since 2003; Middle and High School Choir; PreK-8 General Music; Beginning Strings; Beginning Band
Teaching Philosophy: With beginning students, I use the Faber and Faber series. It is a holistic approach that includes ear training and sight-singing, and encourages good technique. The basics of good technique should be trained from the start to ensure success as students make progress. The series also does not lock students into "C position," using the whole piano from the start and making it easier to transfer skills to new keys and positions. More advanced students integrate a variety of materials.
