Get to know Isis Castillo
Hello, My name is Isis. I was born in Havana, Cuba. I started my musical/piano formation at 6 years old, at Manuel Saumell Music Conservatory in Havana City. I finished high school with honors in 2008 at the Conservatory Amadeo Roldan. I specialized in Piano/Voice and Music theory. I graduated with honors from Florida International University (FIU), with a Bachelor in Music Education. I have been teaching Piano and Vocal techniques for 14 years now to all levels. I have received special training at early childhood education, diversity in the classroom, and technology for educators. I have participated in International Choir Festival at Venezuela and United States, obtaining first awards I have participated in many piano records as well as national tours. I have experience in developing pedagogy for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students, directing rehearsals, preparing students for concerts and competitions. I have strong interpersonal skills to engage and motivate young students to learn. I have great attention to detail, and high standards of performance for self and others. I am well-organized in the classroom, putting emphasis on clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
