About Jared Davis

Get to know Jared Davis
Jared Davis (b.1992) is a guitarist and composer. His interests range from a deep respect for J.S. Bach, a passion for early atonality and a nostalgic love of classic rock. His current goal is to expand the pallet of contemporary-classical music by integrating it with a multitude of other styles, such as rock, jazz, funk, flamenco and other world music styles. As well as drawing a wider audience to art music itself, through small concerts at intimate venues.
He began performing at age 16 as a self-taught guitarist in a local metal band. After finishing his 4 years of service in the US Navy, he was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he received his BM in Guitar Performance in 2019. While studying performance, he quickly realized his real passion was for composition and recently received his MM in Music Composition from Texas State University.
Jared finds himself drawn to unorthodox settings and ensembles. The more random and unexpected, the better. While living in Spain, studying at Berklee’s Valencia campus, he experienced one of his favorite performances. During a tour in the Czech Republic, with a former classmate’s metal band, he recalls performing for hundreds of Czech bikers in the middle of the woods, and being very surprised by their extreme friendliness, humor, and hospitality
