Performance Experience: 229th Army Band - 15 years Clifton Street Bras Quintet - 5 years Hopkins Symphony Orchestra various experience with community orchestras, brass quintets, and chamber ensembles.
Teaching Experience: I have experience teaching students in both the middle school and high school bands. I have also taught complete beginners to novice and professional musicians. Bands under my direction have qualified for the MD State Band Festival on 3 Separate occasions. Ensembles I have conducted have also won the Top Championship award 3 years in a row at the Music and Parks Festival.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe that anything is achievable through hard work, patience, and the belief that you can make the change.

Get to know Jarrel Garner

Jarrel Garner is a graduate of Towson University and Peabody Conservatory of music. Mr. Garner has experience as a band director in both middle and high school settings. Under his leadership his ensembles have attended the MD State Band Festival and won grand champion awards at the Music in the Parks Festival. Mr. Garner is also tubist and assistant conductor with the 229th Army Band - MD Army National Guard.
