About Jason Gerber

Hi! My name is Jason Gerber. I am a lover of all genres and things music, and I'm excited to bring my enthusiasm to teach electric bass and guitar to Music and Arts! I almost never became a musician, as I started my musical journey at age 8 with piano lessons which I despised. It was only until I picked up the bass guitar during the COVID pandemic where I developed my passion. Since then, I have played in bands and orchestras ranging from punk rock to musical theater. I was a proud member of the Jazz Orchestra at American University, where I studied Audio Technology and Mathematics. I have been teaching all of my life, from TA-ing classes at university to teaching music lessons for K-3rd. I believe that the satisfaction of learning and performing a piece of music can create life-long musicians.
