About Jasper Willis

My name is Jasper Willis. I am a local product raised in Northern Virginia and attended college here as well (George Mason University). Although I did not study music in college, that is where I found my love for music and the drums. I started playing for a local church and through exploratory practice and learning from other musicians, it has molded me into the musician and teacher that I am today. (Still learning as well!) 

I have been performing before live audiences for 9+ years. I have been in a variety of situations playing a variety of different styles and genres of music ranging from Rock to worship to even some classical music. I have played in different countries as well playing to music in different languages.  

I have been teaching music for about 7+ years to students of all ages and all skill levels. I am mainly a self taught player who learned a lot through experience. I believes this gives me an edge and keen voice as an educator because I know exactly what is being played in the live scene as well as knowing how to research and pick out certain skills to hone to perform when called up.
