Performance Experience: Jeff has performed classical guitar concerts at area colleges, garden parties as well as weddings as a soloist and as guitar/flute and guitar/oboe duo. Jeff has also played lead guitar in area bands over the years.
Teaching Experience: Jeff recently retired from the Christina School District after 25 plus years as a General Music/Chorus teacher; teaching grades K-5. In addition, Jeff has taught private study guitar lessons over the course of many years at B&B Music and as an adjunct instructor at Wesley College.
Teaching Philosophy: Jeff's views are as follows, "I will listen to my students to find out what their musical goals are and to help them achieve success. The ultimate goal is to instill a passion for music and for each student to be able to express themselves musically in a way that gives he/she joy and satisfaction. I will help each student learn by addressing their individual needs through various learning styles such as visual, tactile and aural. I will also use best practices in music education."

Get to know Jeff Thornley

Jeff has recorded several albums over the years. His "Free & Easy" album is an instrumental smooth jazz album that was released in 2009. It is currently available via multiple online stores such as Spotify, Amazon Music, and itunes to name a few.

In addition, way back in 1983, a young Jeff Thornley released a progressive rock album entitled,, "Locked Inside"; on his independent label Unique Records Ltd.. The album received some local airplay on a Dover area radio station and eventually became a collector item of sorts when a network of rare record collectors discovered it and began distributing the album overseas. You can sometimes hear the album on YouTube as individuals from time to time have uploaded cuts from the album.

When Jeff was getting his music degree from the University of Delaware, he was able to produce his own half hour television show that ran on then Storer Cable (now Comcast) in Kent County, Delaware.  The show consisted of Jeff performing music written, arranged or transcribed for guitar.  The show was entitled, "In Concert With Jeff Thornley".
