About Jennifer Chilton

I started taking violin lessons in 3rd grade and loved every minute of playing the violin.  Music was a huge part of my life, in junior high and high school I participated in school and every community orchestra around.  I majored in Music Education at the University of Iowa where I completed my Bachelors and Masters.  After graduation, I moved to Arizona to begin my teaching career. I spent 33 years teaching elementary and junior high orchestra in several public school districts in the valley.  During this time I also performed with the Mesa Symphony for 15 years and various church groups. I am the mother of 3 grown children and now have 2 grandchildren.  My husband and I have recently retired so we are enjoying spending time with our family and doing some traveling.   I have been teaching private violin and viola lessons since I was in college and I really enjoy working with each student individually and watching them grow and master their instrument.
