About Jessica Thomas

Jessica is a woodwind instructor for Music and Arts. She teaches flute, clarinet, saxophone, and oboe to students at all levels. Outside of Music and Arts, Jessica is a music teacher for North Babylon School District, where she teaches elementary and middle school music. She received her B.S. degree in Music Education from Hartwick College. Jessica also has a Masters of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Messiah University. Jessica has studied advanced music theory techniques as well as the art of conducting as part of her masters. Jessica has been teaching for almost 10 years and her student's abilities reflect that. She has had students participate in the NYSSMA solo festival and go on to play in both All-County and All-State ensembles. She loves to teach students of all ages from beginners to more advanced players. She is proficient with most styles as well, ranging from classical to jazz and everything in between. When she is not teaching, you can see her perform with the Bayshore-Brightwaters Symphonic Band or with the James Street Players Pit Orchestra.
