Education: Received Suzuki certified training of Twinkles and Book one of the Suzuki method.
Performance Experience: Joanna has performed and placed in concerto competitions on violin. She also has been accepted through an audition to Georgia All-state Youth Orchestras on viola and on violin. She also has been accepted into well respected summer programs through audition only on voice, viola and violin through out her childhood and through her high school years.
Teaching Experience: After learning violin, viola, voice and piano Joanna began teaching all ages of students and continues to enjoy sharing the joy of learning music to all!
Teaching Philosophy: Anyone at any age can learn an instrument and find the joy of music making.

Get to know Joanna Sellman

Joanna's love of music and teaching came from her parents who are both professional musicians with degrees from music schools.  She found her passion of teaching by watching her mother, Kerri Sellman, teach private lessons to all ages of students which she continues to do .   Joanna has been teaching violin and viola for many years after completing all of the Suzuki method books on violin.  She also began teaching after taking voice and piano from accomplished music instructors for many years.  She also played in the Armstrong Youth Orchestra at Georgia Southern University Armstrong campus growing up on violin and viola.  She later became a conductor's assistant which including being a music librarian.  She is also an active member of Suzuki Association of America as a teacher.
