About John McManus
Get to know John McManus
John McManus picked up the guitar for the first time a few years after Nirvana exploded on the scene with their sophomore album, Nevermind. John was drawn to the alternative rock music of the early 1990s for its honesty and accessibility. John's parents were both ardent music lovers, and John started playing guitar at Penncrest High School, later starting several bands with friends, and beginning a solo career in 2004 with the release of Side One. Subsequently, John released The Belle Sessions, 613, and Stay with You, and is constantly writing new songs. He earned an undergraduate degree in education from Penn State University and a master's in writing from Saint Joseph's University. John believes that learning guitar should be fun for students, and brings an experienced, student centered approach to each lesson.
