Get to know John Smith

John Smith graduated from  Sam Houston State in 2014 with a B.M. in Music Therapy and in 2021 with a M.M. in Music. He completed his music therapy internship at Charlie Norwood VA Hospital in Augusta, GA. John has provided music lessons with a variety of different instruments including percussion, piano, guitar, and voice. John's music therapy background allows him to evaluate each student individually, preparing a curriculum appropriate for each students learning styles and developmental needs. He was the Percussion Director of Danbury Highschool from 2016-2019, preparing student for both concert and marching seasons. Every student has different learning styles and interests, so the music and books are tailored to those needs. Every student will be given the tools they need to succeed and are only limited by how much effort they are willing to put in for themselves. parents are welcome to sit in the lessons any time. The challenge is to keep the lessons fun and progressive.
