Get to know Jon Toomer
Jonathan Toomer is an up and coming professional violinist hailing from the greater DMV area. Jonathan has over four years of teaching experience, and having received instruction from professors at both Shenandoah University and the University of Maryland - College Park, he is excited to share his love and knowledge of music within the area.
While passionate about all forms of music, lately Jonathan has had a particular interest in categories such as contemporary and modern music, chamber works, as well as jazz improvisation. Jonathan believes that being open to many genres of music makes the learning experience even more fun and allows for more expression of one’s personal interesting within their music. Additionally, Jonathan strongly believes Asha anyone, regardless of age or background, can partake in music making, as it is a language in itself that often surpasses the impact that words can have.
Outside of making music, Jonathan enjoys quite a few hobbies, including cooking, weightlifting, and playing video games.
