Performance Experience: In addition to regular recital performance at California Baptist University, and as a high school student, Joseph has performed as a finalist in the Uptown Kiwani's Club "Riverside's Got Talent" event at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium, and has performed a variety of classical works and his own compositions with a student chamber group in Riverside.
Teaching Experience: 1 year
Teaching Philosophy: Joseph believes in teaching as a means to help students discover a love of music, and then guiding them in the development of knowledge and skill in the creation of it.
Get to know Joseph Greene
Joseph Greene is a pianist, composer and poet from Riverside, California. He began teaching himself to play the piano at the age of eleven, and later began taking private lessons. Greene showed an early interest in composition, writing his first piano sonata as a freshman in high school. Since then, he has written a variety of solo, chamber, choral, and most recently, orchestral works. In 2021 he won second place in the California Baptist University Young Composer’s Competition, and is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in music composition and piano performance at CBU.
