Performance Experience: I have performed with various West Texas A&M University bands, as well as several local jazz ensembles.
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching privately since 2011 and I started at Music and Arts here in Waco in 2019
Teaching Philosophy: I want the best for all of my students, my main goal as their teacher is to build them up to be independent, creative, and confident performers. This involves working one on one with them to build confidence in themselves and their instruments, using various techniques to promote creative problem solving, and a lot of encouragement. I am a big believer in "you get out what you put in" and that definitely applies to all areas of music.
Get to know Joshua Shelton
Joshua Shelton is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, graduating from high school from Waco's own Midway High School. Joshua then went on to pursue his passion at West Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Music in 2016. With over 16 years of playing experience, Joshua is excited to be teaching here in Waco!
