Teaching Philosophy: The idea of "comprehensive musicianship" is one that is a priority in each lesson with a student as we expand past the written music. I believe it is important for students to understand the history, theory, and cultural aspects within a piece of music to have a meaningful music performance. This wholistic approach allows for a well-rounded student, giving them the skills they need to become a thoughtful musician.
