About Julia Marks

Hey there! My name is Julia and I have been playing the cello for over 15 years. A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Music, I’ve been teaching cello for six years and started teaching at Music and Arts in 2019. Currently, I am attending the Catholic University of America in pursuit of a Master’s degree in Cello Performance. I love playing chamber music with friends and enjoy tackling new music as well as the old classics. As a teacher, I love to work with children and adults of all ages and hope to help my students build fundamental skills while learning to love for music of all types, with a focus on classical music and modern classical music. I hope to make a difference in the lives of my students, as my cello teachers have over the years. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, practicing martial arts, and visiting my family.
