Teaching Experience: 6 years of teaching experience. In addition to lessons in performance and composition, I also teach basics in home recording to allow students to have mixed/mastered music for their portfolio. (This includes video recording and editing.) During graduate school, I taught courses on filmmaking and screenwriting which involved writing and recording original scores.

Teaching Philosophy: My goal as an instructor is to help nourish the student's interest in their instrument so that the challenges that come with practicing/studying are fun and engaging. In order to accomplish this, I take the time to understand what their musical interests are. Once that is recognized, the foundational theory and rhythmic exercises, the use of proper form and technique, can be directly applied to the music they wish to perform and seen as a necessary skillset in reaching their objectives.
