      Performance Experience: Clarinet solo in "The Bottle Dance" in Fiddler On The Roof by the Columbia Theatre Players, 14 years performing as first chair clarinetist and Assistant Conductor for the Opera Workshop Orchestra at Southeastern Louisiana University, Finalist for the President's Marine Band '97
      Teaching Experience: I have taught lessons for over 40 years, including to at least 200 students privately.
      Teaching Philosophy: It's my job to translate and communicate a way for a student to be able to execute a certain technique, and have fun doing it!

      Get to know Karen Catoire

      Karen is an experienced teacher of woodwinds, with over 40 years coaching at all levels of skill and a wide range of age groups. Her students have gone on to become amateur as well as professional performers. She stays on top of private instruction techniques by currently studying Composition and Clarinet privately at Southeastern Louisiana University where she previously earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees.
