Performance Experience: Performed in musicals and operas during high school and college; performed with Robert Shaw and the Hungarian Philharmonic in Europe; directed and choreographed musicals for elementary children, Middle School, and High School students; regularly play for church services, weddings, choir performances.

Teaching Philosophy: Kari's desire is to foster an enjoyable music experience that encourages a love for all types of music regardless of whether the student will be a consumer of music or a professional participant. She encourages her students to focus on both the specific techniques of a piece as well as the aesthetics of the genre, and she enjoys incorporating a rich music experience by introducing them to the various music styles, composers, and arrangers they will be playing.
