About Kathy Azari
Get to know Kathy Azari
Kathy Azari received her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado and studied with Dr. Kenneth Evans. She is co-principal oboe with the Greeley Chamber Orchestra and has also played oboe and English Horn with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and the Montana Chamber Orchestra. She was the Band Director at Brentwood Middle school for 31 years until her retirement in 2021. She also teaches early childhood music through Union Colony Children's Music Academy, specializing in group piano instruction for ages 4-12. She was the Greeley/Evans District 6 Teacher of the Year in 2013 and that same year was awarded as director of a Program of Excellence by the National Band Association. She was awarded the Outstanding Woman of Weld County distinction in 2007 for her contributions to music education in Weld County. Her husband, Doran, is a retired orchestra director in Greeley and has been a co-collaborator in many projects including a middle school symphony orchestra.
