About Katie

Hi there! I’m a Piano Performance Major and Vocal Minor at Western Kentucky University. I’m an avid music lover and very excited to be on the Music & Arts team! During my undergraduate studies I’ve had instruction in piano pedagogy from Dr. Christina Lai and Dr. Zachary Lopes and begun my teaching career. I’ve playing piano for 17 years, professionally for 8 years, performing in operas, musicals, choral, orchestral, jazz, and band events, religious settings, and private events. I enjoy composing music in my spare time and playing gigs locally. Outside of music I am a passionate environmentalist, a Jurassic Park enthusiast, and love shopping for vintage things! If you take lessons with me, I’ll make sure you’re learning music that piques your interest and grows your technical and musical ability. Hope to work with you!
