      Get to know Katy

Katy Camp has been making music since before she could walk. One of her earliest memories is sitting on her dad's lap while he played the piano, and over three decades later she still has the music bug!

Katy has spent innumerable hours studying piano, violin, viola, cello, solo voice, choir, and ensemble/orchestra. She has performed hundreds of times all over the US and even spent a summer doing street shows all over Western Europe. She was the lead singer/fiddler for The Wildflowers bluegrass band for 9 years, and has appeared as a guest artist at numerous festivals, concerts, and events. She also loves musical theater and jumps at the opportunity to perform with local theater groups whenever possible.
But even more than performing, Katy loves teaching! She's been instructing kids and adults of all ages since she was 13 years old and has had over 200 private students to date. She believes strongly in a student-driven teaching style, customizing lessons to each individual and encouraging students really take ownership of their musical education. Whether you want to learn Irish fiddling, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, or to sing like Ed Sheeran, Katy is your gal!
      Katy teaches at:
