Teaching Philosophy: KC approaches teaching with a student-centered philosophy. Learning proper technique is crucial, though KC's main priority is to foster an environment that encourages a lifelong love for music in all of her students. Her objective is to appropriately challenge students based on their individual goals, while still reaching the appropriate milestones in fundamentals, technique, theory, and knowledge of repertoire for the student's personal experience level.

Get to know KC Crawford

Hailing from Dallas, TX, KC Crawford began playing the clarinet at age 11 in her middle school band. KC went on to receive her BM in Instrumental Performance from Loyola University New Orleans in 2023.

KC frequently performs within the clarinet sections of several orchestras across the Gulf Coast, including the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and Mobile Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed in masterclasses with artists such as Daniel Gilbert, and has traveled to Austria to perform with the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project. Additionally, KC has served as the solo clarinetist of the NOLA Winds Quintet, and enjoys performing in various chamber ensembles.

When she isn't performing, KC enjoys writing, hiking, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with her cat, Teena.
