Education: Self taught over many years. The hands-on approach not only works for me, but works for most students as well.
Performance Experience: I have played in several bands ranging from Country to Heavy Metal
Teaching Experience: Have been teaching for 5 years and I have been playing for 36 years.
Teaching Philosophy: I tailor my lessons to each specific student. I teach the basics then I find songs that the student is interested in and as we learn about the guitar we learn songs they like. It is my belief that students will stay engaged by learning something the can relate to.
Get to know Keith Rooks
Hi my name is Keith Rooks. Sometimes people say Keith Rocks when they first see my name. I don't mind because I do love Rock music. I have been playing Guitar since I was 15 years old. My first guitar was a harmony electric guitar. In 1985 there were many Rock bands featuring electric guitars and I was obsessed.
Over the years I have played acoustic guitar, Cello and recently picked up the Mandolin. I have time in my life now to help others learn what I love to do in my free time. Sign up for a class learn to play.
