Performance Experience: Dr. Eggert has performed as the vocalist, keyboardist, bassist, and percussionist in various ensembles over the past 40 years. He is currently the lead singer-keyboardist-music director of The Fine Colombians of Knoxville, TN, and the singer-keyboardist of Gotcha Groove of Marion, NC.
Teaching Experience: Dr. Eggert has taught college courses for 4 years, and private lessons for 27 years.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe strongly in helping the student achieve their personal musical goals, and to include improvisation as part of the training.

Get to know Kenneth Eggert

Dr. Kenneth Eggert has been a professional performing musician and composer for over 30 years. He received his BA in Music from Thomas Edison State University, his MA in Music Theory/Composition from Montclair State University, and his DMA in Music Composition from The University of Georgia.

He currently teaches music theory and composition at Brevard College, plays piano at First Baptist of Marshall, and performs as the singer/keyboardist in several local bands.

His original compositions have been performed by ensembles such as the American Modern Ensemble and Atlantic Brass Quintet of New York, NY, and have been recorded and released by Navona Records.
