About Kyle Moreen

Education: Kyle has a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from University of Miami and a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance and Composition from Whitworth University.
Performance Experience: Kyle has had the opportunity to study and play various styles of music including classical, jazz, funk, and pop. He has performed in wind ensembles, jazz ensembles, jazz combos, saxophone quartets, pit orchestras, pop bands, and more. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with Kenny Barron, Chris Potter, Rosario Giuliani, Arturo Sandoval, Jon Secada, and Monica Mancini.
Teaching Experience: Kyle has been teaching lessons with Music & Arts for over 2 years. He also has extensive experience teaching lessons in local public schools as a substitute teacher. He has had experience as a lecturer and an ensemble director with the Frost Preparatory Program, Spokane All-City Jazz Ensembles, Camp-of-the-Woods Jazz Ensemble, and more.
Teaching Philosophy: Kyle structures his lessons around custom curricula based on individual student needs. After assessing each student's skill level, interets, and goals, he assigns exercises and repertoire that provide a foundation essential for woodwind players while focusing on the kind of music students want to play.
Get to know Kyle Moreen
Kyle Moreen is a woodwinds specialist, composer, and educator from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He began playing saxophone at 11 years old. Kyle received a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance and Composition from Whitworth University. He also received a Master of Music in Jazz Saxophone Performance from the University of Miami, where he studied with Gary Keller. In recent years, he has studied and performed on flute and clarinet in addition to saxophone. Kyle currently lives in Albany, New York, working as a freelance performer and educator.
