Get to know Laura Potter
Laura Potter is an experienced tuba player and is passionate about sharing her knowledge of brass instruments. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in tuba performance and has taught brass lessons and courses at Indiana State University, Dickinson State University, and The University of Kansas. Many of her past students have successfully auditioned for spots in all state bands and competitive youth symphonies and have won scholarships to attend college and university music programs. Her customized teaching approach ensures that each student is given the individual support they need to excel at their instrument, sparking an appreciation for the joy and artistry of making music. Laura has performed professionally with CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra, the Indianapolis Brass Choir, the Billings Symphony (MT), the Lafayette Symphony (IN), Kansas City Brassworks, the University of Kansas Faculty Brass Quintet, the Appalachian Brass, and the Glendale Symphony (CA). She has been a featured soloist with the Dickinson City Band (ND) and the Bonner Springs City Band (KS). Laura specializes in teaching tuba, baritone, euphonium and trombone at all levels, and beginning and intermediate trumpet.
